Car Insurance for Ladies – Take Advantage of the Savings
We (well, most of us) love to shop; that’s a fact. Visiting people and hitting the mall are usually the extent of some females’ driving on a weekly basis. Most women drive short distances – taking the children to school and soccer, ballet or karate. We drive slower, safer, and don’t need a loud exhaust to announce our arrival. And our cars are smaller, with smaller motors and less optional extras that those of our male counterparts. Why should we pay the same amount for insurance premiums? Car insurance for ladies is a real, and valid, part of an insurance provider’s offerings – and women would be mad not to take it up.
With research and government figures backing our safe driving habits, we can take advantage of it with smaller premiums (and gosh knows we need the extra money!). But there are ways we can further reduce our premiums to make sure that we are getting the most out of our insurance company.
Reducing the amount of fancy extras on our cars is a great way to make sure we don’t pay more than we need to. Do you really need a V6, with a roof rack and alloy wheels if you primarily take the children to school each day? Is a tow bar essential if you only drive to and from work? And what about that huge spoiler – unless you’re tearing along a race track, you don’t need it for the occasional shopping trip with girlfriends. Cutting back on the add-ons will substantially reduce your premium amounts and ensure you’re not paying a penny more than is absolutely necessary.
But there are optional extras that you can add to your car that will in fact minimise your premiums.
Security features such as immobilisers, alarms and locking mechanisms will bring your payments down as your car is theoretically less likely to be stolen. And safety measures will further decrease that risk, not to mention keep you safe as well. Parking in well-lit areas and with plenty of other cars around will mean you and your car are less likely to come to harm, and a panic button on your car alarm ‘beeper’ can ward off an attacker late at night.
It might pay to invest in a car that can turn on the interior lights when the alarm is de-activated, so you can see it’s empty before you get in. Visual aids are useful, too, such as the old-fashioned ‘club lock’ devices. Sure, they’re not as secure as a screaming alarm, but the time it takes to hacksaw through one usually puts off a prospective thief. Similarly, parking your car in a garage when you are at home will protect it while it’s not being driven.
There are ways you can bring down your premiums, and you can start by taking advantage of car insurance for ladies and adding on – or taking away – things from your vehicle.
