How To Find High Risk Auto Insurance

When you need high risk auto insurance you probably won’t get the best prices. However it is possibly to find cheap insurance for high-risk drivers still. Though not as cheap as if you weren’t high risk, but still reasonable. http://www.onlineautoinsurance.com/learn/high-risk-drivers.htm

How do you know if you are a high risk auto insurance driver? There are many factors that lead to a high risk classification, the most notable being an accumulation of speeding tickets. However, other driving offenses, such as drunk driving, can also contribute to this status. If you are a highrisk driver, you will probably be denied vehicle insurance from conventional insurance agencies.

If you are an assigned risk driver, this means you have been basically blacklisted by insurance agencies and cannot obtain insurance through typical means. This puts you in a quandary, because the law states you must be insured to drive your vehicle legally.

You are considered a risky driver if you have a history of several speeding tickets, red light camera violations, aggressive driving habits, a record of drunk, buzzed, or reckless driving, several car accidents where the policy holder is at fault, and so forth. One or two offenses usually won’t prompt your insurance company to ditch you right away, but accumulate more than three, and you could be looking at a serious problem keeping your car insurance policy. Eventually, you might be denied car insurance altogether.

If this is your circumstance, then you have three choices. The first choice is to drive without an insurance policy, and just hope you never get caught. This is obviously a horrible idea, but it is a very common occurrence in drivers who cannot afford or qualify for insurance.

The second option is to quit driving. You could take public transportation or ask a friend or family member to drive you to work and on errands. Some drivers choose this method, at least for a while, but that kind of deal gets old after a short time, and being dependent upon someone else for your travel is hardly much of a plan.

Your third option is to find an insurance company that will deal specifically with assigned risk or high risk auto insurance. Though the insurance might cost more money, it will at least allow you to drive legally and get yourself to work every day.

But high risk car insurance is not unique to poor drivers. For example, drivers under the age of 20 or over the age of 70 are often considered risky to an agency because of statistically poor driving records. Both of these parties have tendencies to drive without paying attention to their surroundings, and often end up getting into car accidents or habitually going over the speed limit.

But this doesn’t mean you should give up on insurance. There are several insurance agencies that will welcome you with open arms provided you can pay the premium and exhibit good driving after having your record soiled with previous bad driving experiences.
